Boston Powers Through for 106-88 Game 5 Victory

Celtics On Verge of 18th Championship

The Boston Celtics are just one game away from securing their 18th NBA championship after a dominant 106-88 Game 5 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. The Celtics showcased their defensive prowess, limiting the Mavericks to just 38.5% shooting from the field and forcing 13 turnovers.

Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 29 points, while Jaylen Brown added 21. Kristaps Porzingis led the Mavericks with 24 points, but his efforts were not enough to overcome the Celtics' balanced attack.

The Celtics have now won three consecutive games in the series and will head back to Boston for Game 6 on Thursday night. If they win, they will clinch their first NBA championship since 2008.

The Mavericks, meanwhile, will need to regroup and find a way to overcome the Celtics' momentum if they want to extend the series to a seventh game. Game 6 is set to tip off at 9:00 PM ET on Thursday, June 15.
